At Two Otters Homestead, we raise meat and eggs, but we also grow a lot of vegetables. Each year, we work harder at growing food year-round so that we can have fresh produce no matter the season.

Our goal is to help you enjoy this lifestyle, eat healthy, and make the most of this stage of your life.

Old Traditions, Modern Methods

We strive to enjoy fresh vegetables the same way our parents and grandparents did. We are passionate about the full cycle of food production:

  • Starting Seeds: We work to start all our own seeds.

  • Preservation: We preserve our harvests through canning, freezing, and freeze-drying.

  • Self-Reliance: We are constantly building our path toward independence.

If we can pass a portion of this knowledge along to you—and establish a legacy with our own family—then we have accomplished our goal.

It Is Never Too Late to Start

While we have gardened since we were very young, we still learn something new every day. We want to share what we have learned (and continue to learn) with you.

It does not matter your age or where you are in life. Whether you live in a house, an apartment, a townhouse, or a large farm, you can put a seed in the ground.
