Reviews and Gear
Tools, equipment, and gadgets are the backbone of a successful homestead. They are significant investments—and when your livelihood depends on your gear, durability, and reliability are non-negotiable.
In this section, we take the guesswork out of purchasing. Unlike typical reviews, our testing happens under real-world pressure. We use, abuse, and depend on every item we review across all areas of our property, often testing them until they fail (or better yet, prove they can last a lifetime!).
Our reviews span the entire cycle of homestead life, covering everything from the smallest hand tool to the largest piece of specialized equipment.

What We Test:
The Kitchen: Stand mixers, specialty canning gear, vacuum sealers, and essential cooking appliances.
The Garden & Field: Seeds, specialized hand tools, irrigation systems, and larger gardening equipment.
The Workshop & Farm: Power tools, safety gear, fencing equipment, and infrastructure materials.
Preservation: Dehydrators, freeze dryers, and cold storage monitoring systems.
Our promise is simple: If we haven’t used it, we won’t review it. We share the good, the bad, and the long-term cost analysis to help you make smart, informed decisions that save you time and money for years to come.
